The Purple House in Smithfield, owned by Johann Greeff and uncle of Karen Zoid, is one of the oldest and nowadays most funkiest, grooviest guest houses in the Free State. This Guest House is run by myself and I am always available.  Here I do not pretend to be 5 star, but I do know the importance of offering nice, clean rooms and beds with great service, aircon, wi-fi and friendliness.

We have a generator when load shedding happens!  You will have lights and water to shower!  
I am fairly laid back and will be most happy to welcome you into my home.  
We will part as friends for sure! Come stay where guests like Radio Kalahari Orkes group, Karen Zoid family, Manuel Escorcio, Petronel Baard and many other Groovy singing stars have stayed!

 

PICTURED ABOVEThe newest addtition of two rooms at the Purple House and built in what used to be the cement dam.  Free  Wi-Fi in all rooms!  
The Half moon room has a king size bed with percale sheets and memory foam, separate bathroom, flat screen TV, kitchenette, fans, electric blankets, fan and heater for the winter.
The bed can be split into two single beds and another single bed can be installed for three guests.

PICTURED BELOWThe Pierneef room is nice and comfortable with FULL AIR CONDITIONING, oregon floors and high ceilings. The unit sports a queen size bed, extra length, private bathroom with shower, separate toilet and free Wi-Fi.  The unit is actually like a private suite within the house.  Full DSTV satelite TV.

BELOW....The Gallery room is FULLY AIR CONDITIONED and fitted with two single beds, two lounge chairs and has an en-suite bathroom with shower only inside the room. Full DStv is available. Coffee and tea always free!

 

BELOW.....The Gecko Cottage has hot and cold AIR CONDITIONING
for the bedrooms and can accommodate four to five persons in comfort. We have two rooms in the cottage. One room has a double bed and the other has three single beds. There is a kitchen and bathroom with gas shower is separate. FREE Wi-Fi in all the rooms !  It is ideal for a family to overnight or even for long term stays for contractors. It is basic, but comfortable.                         
 


 

Coffee and tea-making facilities are provided in the kitchen and we also have a small café in the garden. Dinners and breakfasts are served inside the house or on the veranda. You could also have it in the lovely tea garden with a little pond. The house also has a private cinema for entertainment; prior arrangement for shows is a must.

Come join me for a relaxing and entertaining stay!  By prior arrangement, I am able to take you on a little tour of our town and to share some interesting stories!
